Round Two T20 2019/20

LION CUBS DEVOUR PANTHERS TO REMAIN UNDEFEATED IN T20 COMP

Words (and spelling and grammatical errors) by John Halliday.

A bizarre T20 last night both teams getting off to blistering starts with wickets falling at will.

Batting first Uniting turned its batting order around with some interesting results. Malin fell early and Hugo and Trent both run out for low scores whilst Liam and Buddhika swung freely before Liam went for 17 and Buddy a classy 33.

85 runs from 11 overs was fantastic but the 5 wickets lost wasn’t. Skipper Shorty and Harry steadied with smart singles and placement before Harry opened up with some massive hits including consecutive sixes to bring up his half Century. This is why, among other things, Harry is the best Zaia.

Shorty out for a fine 27 and Harry not out a very intelligent and well-pace 70 in our total of 171.

Le Page started like they wanted to win in 10 overs with rapid scoring, 20 off 2 overs, then 60 off 6 and 91 off 11.

The only issue was like us wickets were falling.

When their ring-in from Northcote Baker was dismissed for 67, they completely crumbled to be all out for 128.

Great catching by our guys supporting bowlers who shared wickets, Liam 2, Malin 2 and man of the match, Harry Zaia, with 2/16.

Another massive hungry and thirsty mob of Uniting supporters in attendance and club legend Glenn Lalor dropped in to watch the young cubs.

Thanks to the hard-working bar, BBQ staff and scorers.

Undefeated we now head off to King George next Tuesday to take on ANA and to “ Big Dance with Jansz”.

BE THERE!
