LIONS NEGATE NATIVES TO MOVE INTO T20 FINALS
A thIrd-straight win in the SECA Knight Sport T20 series was completed by the boys with a 32-run win over Bentleigh ANA at a windswept St George Reserve.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Trent (63 off 30) and Josh (33 off 19) got the side off to a blistering start, dispatching the ball to all parts of the ground. Hugo (30 off 18) and Shorty (47 off 28) kept the scoreboard ticking over, with a total of 6/211 the result.
In return, the hosts started briskly before Liam made the first breakthrough. Spin then took over, with Buddhika taking the vital wicket of ANA’s dangerman and Harry grabbing three in succession. Malin then came on to snuff out any hope of ANA pulling off a unlikely win, taking two wickets.
A special mention goes out to boom youngster Charlie Davidson who made his 1st team debut and didn’t look out of place.
So all roads lead to a Centenary next Tuesday afternoon as the young cubs embark on an exciting finals campaign. The canteen will be firing on all cylinders, so make sure you’re there to cheer on our exciting young team.
